I interviewed Writer/ Director, Hank Isaac about our new project and here's what he had to say . . .

My First Time is intended as a “calling-card short film” with the purpose of enchanting backers to help realize a feature version of it.  I have actually time-traveled in my life.  Not in the classic way, but I've visited places of significance to me where, in some cases, more than 40 years have passed.  The memories of the “original” look & feel were still with me, so the actual shock of what was truly an instantaneous passage of time was profound.

I love time-travel stories, in part because they're extremely difficult to craft.  The notion of time travel carries with it a truckload of paradoxes.  Only a few recent films deal with that well. 

This is the very first time Millie (Twelve-year-old Tehya Prantle), the time traveler, is traveling through time.  Ten-thousand years into her past, she encounters Henry (Thirteen-year-old Ajax Robinso), the someday scientist, on a “survival in the woods” experience to earn a merit badge.  This is Henry's first time, too.  And he's not very good at it.  Nor is Millie.

How did you come up with the title, “My First Time”?

The phrase is a classic one, usually reserved for encounters of a sexual nature.  Despite that, the film's two central characters are actually doing what they're doing for the very first time.  So the title applies, even as it is also “suggestive.”  I felt it would be a natural attractor.

What kind of funding do you need and what will it be used for?

I would like to be able to pay everyone involved.  

Cast & Crew

I would like to be able to create a comfortable work environment for everyone for the duration of principal photography.  

Craft Services

I would like to be able to afford to utilize the kind of equipment that would allow the production team's talents to blossom.  

Equipment Rental

I would like to be able to market the project to target potential backers for the feature version.

My First time begins principal photography on November 13th, 2015!
