48 Hour Horror Film Festival

The 48 Hour Horror Film Festival starts this Friday, October 23rd. Now here's an adventure in Indie filmmaking! This is my first year and I'm raring to go! The best part is that this particular event is geared toward my favorite genre. Horror!

But wait, one filmmaker's horror is another filmmaker's ghost movie. There are sub-genres in horror! AND, the requirement is that we pick randomly. We may end up making a creature feature, psychological thriller, paranormal found footage movie or a straight up slasher flick. (I hope not slasher. But I'll still give it everything I've  got in any case). So, what happens is this . . .

On Friday night, October 23rd, each group will randomly choose a genre. They are also required to use an assigned line of dialogue, a particular prop and a specified character. Each team will use Friday night to write their script and prepare for one day of shooting on Saturday, October 24th. Sunday, October 25th is used to edit. That's it. It happens that fast.

The filmmaking teams are divided into groups. My team, CINEGEEKS, headed up by Lorraine Montez is part of group A. All of the finished films in group A will premiere on Monday, November 2nd at 7pm at SIFF Cinema Uptown 511 Queen Anne Avenue North, Seattle 98109
Be sure to get your tickets ahead of time because this is a really popular event!
