Have you heard of Amazon Studios? They create original drama, comedy, and kids series.
#1 Unlike Hollywood, it’s much easier to get your work “into the right hands.” They accept submissions internationally as well!
#2 They invite audience participation. Amazon Studios seeks feedback about projects and ideas, even in their earliest stages. To reach the most people, they try to shape stories into a form that is short, or visual, or both. They test premises, storyboards, posters, videos, test movies, pilots, promos, and other formats to see what people think.
#3 They have an “open-door submission policy” that seeks to promote original story-telling from all experience levels. This means exposure for the new kids on the block and opportunities for seasoned professionals!
#4 You can submit a movie idea to Amazon Studios in one of two forms: upload an original full-length screenplay, or upload a 2- to 15-minute video.
#5 You have an opportunity to submit programming for children including live-action, animated, stop motion and mixed media.
#6 Amazon execs view you work privately or you can open up viewing to the Amazon Studio subscribers for feedback.
#7 There is no charge to submit your work.
#8 Track your submission through receipt-Que-Evaluation-and decision. Once the submission has been evaluated and a decision has been made, “you will receive a notification from Amazon Studios within 48 hours with either an agreement to option your property or a pass.”
#9 Review the work of your peers and get an inside look at what kind of work is being submitted.
#10 Amazon Studios also has a cloud-based screenwriting app.
