A theater that's falling apart, a technical director who just doesn't care, and a stage manager that's trying to hold it together for one last performance before she takes a job elsewhere. What could be more challenging? Well, there's also the matter of the spirit with unfinished business.

Ghostlight was basically a no-budget production. Team members Kira Sipler, Peter Spawn, TK Johnson; as well as others, I am sure, contributed money for props, equipment, and food.
Principal photography was completed July 2015; the final cut in October 2016. It was a long haul and an incredible opportunity to hone my skills. I think the whole team feels this way about Ghostlight.
The Shoreline Community College Theater Department contributed space and costumes and the Film Department contributed equipment.
We put together a great team of students who were in their final quarters before graduation.

We filmed in Shoreline Community College's theater. It was the perfect venue. We all have a special love for SCC's theater department. It was a huge learning experience for me in the obvious ways because of being a first time director. My mentor, Tony Doupe, warned me of the perils of directing your own script and he was, of course, correct.
My instructors left me and my team alone to do our work, which made us feel like pros and we pulled it off. I learned things about myself and how I deal with the pressure of the unknown; some good qualities, some that needed work, but all valuable tools for the future.
Tales of the Ghostlight is intended to become a series of ghost stories set in various theaters. The stories always center around the Ghostlight. In episode one, a tech director harbors a secret and his growing guilt brings back the spirit of the stage manager who was killed because he neglected his duties.
